About us

So, who is behind EasyOver50? That's a very fair question.

We’re Bridget and Brian, the founders of Easyover50.com. And yes we are both over 50. In actual fact we are both in our early 60's. We built this site because we wanted to find something like it ourselves: useful information for people over 50 that was optimistic, uplifting, encouraging without being fluffy and really hard to naivigate, practical without being patronising, and clear without assuming everyone understands and loves technology.

Life after 50 can mean planning a first solo trip, helping a grandchild through a difficult moment, making savings work harder, learning a new skill, changing careers, or simply asking, “What do I want the half to look like?”

Those are real questions. They deserve thoughtful, useful answers.

Why we built it

The site we wanted to find

Too much information aimed at people over 50 treats them as either fragile or finished. That isn’t how we see this stage of life.

We believe people can be experienced and still curious, capable and still want a hand, confident in one part of life and completely new to another. Easyover50 exists to make those next steps less confusing.

We don’t know everything, and we won’t pretend to. We research, review, explain what we can clearly, and improve our work when readers point out something we can do better. Bridget & Brian

What happens before publish

How we make an EasyOver50 guide

  1. 01

We start with a real problem

We begin with a question people are actually trying to solve.

  2. 02

    We research it properly

We check reliable information and separate the useful from the noise.

  3. 03

    We write it plainly

No insider language.  Just clear steps and sensible explanations.

  4. 04

    We make it practical

Every guide must help you decide, do or understand something.

  5. 05

    We keep improving

Corrections and reader suggestions help us make each edition better.

You don’t have to be good with technology or already know the subject. You only need to be willing to have a go.
